Birthdays – Whilst many people think gift giving is a recent trend, the giving of Birthday Presents dates back to ancient times and even pre-dates all religions. In fact once civilisations found a way of knowing a year has passed by studying the moon, they celebrated birthdays. Whilst we don’t know what Birthday Gifts were given back then, the selection of Birthday Presents on giftmaster is extensive.

Christmas - Christmas is now a worldwide end of year festival that transgresses all faiths but has more meaning to Christians. It is a time where we all can relax & enjoy ourselves. The receiving & giving of Christmas Presents & Christmas Gifts makes us all feel good and whilst many think the giving of Christmas Gifts is a recent phenomena, the history of Christmas Presents date back to the early 1800’s

Valentine’s Day – Always on February 14th but sometimes a nightmare for online delivery as we can only deliver Monday to Friday. So Valentine’s Day 2010 will start on Friday February 12th!

Mother’s Day – This changes from year to year as firstly it’s always on a Sunday and secondly it is on the fourth Sunday in lent. In Ireland the celebration of Mother’s Day goes back to the year 1600 – even before the card companies existed!! In 2010, Mother’s Day is Sunday March 14th. Easter – Another with changing dates. Easter is on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the equinox. So the earliest that Easter can be is March 22nd (occurred in 1818, though in 2008 it occurred on March 23rd) and the latest it can be is April 25th which will occur in 2038! In 2010 Easter is on April 4th and GiftMaster will have a beautiful range of specially made Easter Egg baskets suitable for delivery nationwide.

Father’s Day - This is more recent than Mother’s Day and dates to 1909. The date of father’s day is also a lot simpler than Mother’s Day, being the third Sunday in June. In 2010 Father’s day is Sunday June 20th. Traditional Father’s day Gifts include Neckties & a father’s Day Rose, though these days Balloons, Wine & Chocolates are preferred.
